What We Do.

Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.

~ Mark Twain

The Friends is a group of citizens who volunteer their time to help financially support the AUBURN PUBLIC LIBRARY (APL). The APL is a vital educational and cultural asset to the community. The APL is a comfortable and welcoming place where people of all ages and cultures come together, in person or online, to experience the joy of reading, express their creativity, satisfy their curiosity, and create and share content.

The Friends of the Auburn Public Library is an independent, non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to raising money through donations, book sales and other activities, and to donate those funds to the Library for materials, services and programs not funded through the municipal budget.

Come to the Library Lobby and peruse dozens of gently used books, both popular titles and old favorites; prices are posted in the vestibule. The BIG Book Sale is held multiple times a year at the Library. Watch for the next event date on this website, notices in the Lobby, and on Facebook. Check out our Community and Events page for special fundraising events too!
